We’ve got some exciting updates as we gear up for a great summer of softball at TSI!
🎉 Welcome Mikayla Houge to the TSI Team as our new pitching instructor for all ages and skill levels!
Mikayla Houge is a former Division I pitcher at the University of Virginia, where she was a four-year contributor in the ACC. She graduated in 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Information Technology and a concentration in Business Analytics, and currently works as a data analyst.
Over her collegiate career, she made over 110 appearances, pitched more than 258 innings, and recorded multiple complete games and relief victories. Known for her poise and work ethic, Mikayla earned spots on the ACC Academic Honor Roll all four years and was recognized as a CSC Academic All-District and ACC All-Academic Team selection.
Before college, Mikayla was one of the most decorated high school pitchers in the country. She was the 2019 Iowa Softball Gatorade High School Player of the Year, the Ames Tribune Female Athlete of the Year, and an NFCA High School All-American. She led Collins-Maxwell to two Iowa state championships and a runner-up finish, finishing her high school career with 103 wins and 1,102 strikeouts. She was also a four-time First Team All-State selection, a three-time All-State Tournament Team selection, and a two-time team captain of the All-State Tournament Team.
In addition to her playing career, Mikayla brings five years of coaching experience, working with pitchers of all ages and skill levels. Her coaching style emphasizes strong fundamentals, mental toughness, and a love for the game. Whether working with beginners or advanced athletes, she’s committed to helping players grow both on and off the field.
